It looks like the superintendent in the St. Lucie school district has his head or mind stuck in medieval times. According to the blog The Gradebook, Michael Lannon told district employees they couldn’t bring their children to work with them on Thursday, which was “National Take Your Children to Work Day”.
His words were that this idea is “not educationally valid.” Thanks for the insight Mr. Lannon, I know there are better ways to improve your students attendance and FCAT scores than to stop students from learning about the real world and what they have to look forward to. Maybe it would change a child’s idea to go into the education field.
The sorry state of administrators.
