Being in K12IT I totally believe that iPad’s will increase in use especially to the point that we will no longer use textbooks as a 1:1 ratio per student. Yes, we will still need a certain amount of hardcover textbooks, but not the massive dollar amount we now use.
I don’t believe we will be in the iPad business though. How many students already have an iPhone, another smartphone or tablet that you can install an app that reads online magazines or text? Kindle of the iPhone, and I could on on and on. The schools don’t need to supply the receiving device, those are already in the hands of the students. Let’s give them the content, lets deliver it to them.
Doesn’t that sound a lot like what Apple is doing with iBook?
